Organization Description:OPALCO has suspended all disconnections, and all late payment penalties have been put on hold.
OPALCO is tracking needs based on the current COVID-19 pandemic in order to access federal and state relief funds. Any members whose financial situation is related to the COVID-19, should apply to see what assistance may be available.
OPALCO Energy Assistance Program
The Energy Assistance program is available as a bill credit to members who are re-enrolled on the standard Residential rate and have qualified for assistance through another program for low-income households (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Free/Reduced Lunch Program, Apple Health (MEDICAID), Social Security Disability (SSDI), San Juan County Senior/Disabled Tax Exemption Program, Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Rental Assistance, Other Utility Assistance).
OPALCO’s Project Pal
A program for those needing extra assistance during hardship. You may receive assistance in the form of community payment of your bill. You must be an active residential member of OPALCO for the 4 months prior to application. Applications for Project Pal are coordinated directly with the Orcas Community Resource Center.
