CRISIS ALERT: THERAPY FOR PARKLAND ATTACK
Thero is currently working with our partners to coordinate a therapeutic response to the tragic shooting in Parkland, Florida. The public can see a list of providers offering pro bono sessions by visiting Thero.org/Parkland-Strong. If you’re a licensed provider you can offer pro bono sessions by joining the Thero Provider Community and adding your Directory Listing.
What is it?
Thero.org is a non-profit community of licensed treatment providers who are building the first national mental health resource directory. The Crisis Therapy Project is a collaborative group of organizations that connects licensed therapists to people affected by natural disasters or national crisis.
How it Works
During times of crisis licensed mental health providers on Thero let the public know they’re offering free therapy by choosing a “Pro Bono” option. Currently providers can offer free therapy for people affected by school shootings/attacks, first-responder traumas, experiences of racism, exposure to police violence, and natural disasters.

Why It’s Important
We must make it easy for mental health professionals to connect with those in need. We’ve already seen many national crises and natural disasters this year. It can feel overwhelming and often there isn’t an easy way to organize a response. The Crisis Therapy Project empowers local mental health professionals to support the causes and communities that matter most to them.
