Extended Biography :
My son is on the Autism Spectrum, which provides me with a deep understanding of what families who have a child with special needs go through. My husband and I have been together for 20 years and have continued to grow deeper in love. Our journey through health issues, infertility, loss, and raising our special needs son has been met with so many challenges. We put our marriage first and continue to nurture and prioritize spending time together. My professional and personal experience adds a deeper level of understanding, and empathy for my clients.
I received a Masters in Arts in Psychology with an emphasis of Marriage and Family Therapy from Chapman University. I completed my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from California State University Dominguez Hills. After completing my required internship hours I became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with the Board of Behavioral Science in 2009. I have extensive training in working with couples. I have completed the Certified Gottman Level 1 and 2 training and will be on track to become a Gottman Certified Therapist. I have additional training in attachment theory, handling affairs and betrayal, appreciation dialogue, sexual intimacy, postpartum depression/anxiety, addiction, and neuroscience. I have spoken in the community about the effects of postpartum depression/anxiety on relationships, and educating healthcare workers on the early detection of postpartum and perinatal depression and anxiety.Gender: WomanRace & Ethnicity: Caucasian
