    Role In Relation to Clients/Patients:

I use the approach that best suites the client's unique needs. I usually fulfill a hybrid role of expert and collaborative. I serve as a safe place for the client to explore the tools he/she need to create solutions. I determine the options of tools from evidence-based techniques, the client determines which ones he/she specifically thinks will work best. Then, I teach the client how to wield that tool in his/her daily life. With a synergistic approach of various models, I aim to help minority women, couples and families gain insight into the origins of their distress, discover an alternative way of seeing themselves and take strategic steps to engage in healthy feelings, thoughts, and interactions.
