Dr. Kholodova is a licensed psychologist in San Diego. She completed her undergraduate studies at Portland State University. She received a master’s degree in psychology, and a doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Alliant International University: California School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Kholodova also completed postdoctoral training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis in Los Angeles, CA.Throughout her career, Dr. Kholodova has worked in multiple clinical settings, with a wide range of clients. She has had seven years of experience providing psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, couples, and families in a private practice setting. She also provided psychotherapy to 12 to 18-year-old adolescents at the Preuss School, UCSD. For several years, Dr. Kholodova worked in mental health clinics treating clients with severe and persistent mental illness. She has also worked as a clinician on the Psychiatric Emergency Response Team (PERT). Finally, for several years Dr. Kholodova worked in an outpatient clinic, treating male and female domestic violence perpetrators, and parents involved with Child Protective Services.Aside from private practice, Dr. Kholodova is currently working at two mental health clinics, supervising/training predoctoral students in their clinical work. Dr. Kholodova tailors her therapeutic approach to each individual client, taking into account each client’s unique experiences and cultural background. She is fluent in Russian and has worked with a diverse clientele throughout her career.Dr. Kholodova has extensive experience with group psychotherapy. She has facilitated groups on the following topics: separation and divorce, trauma, stress management, tai-chi and mindfulness, depression and art, teen girls issues, sensitivity to diversity, and domestic violence.
