Dr. Joanne Royer

I work outside the box and focus on wellness not pathology. I believe all of us go through various levels of emotional challenge and are at all stages of wellness. Yes, I have a doctorate but you won’t hear me talk in “therapy speak” or use fancy words. I provide a “pretense-free” zone for my clients. That said, I provide mental wellness services using psychotherapy and life coaching * modalities to adults approaching 50 and beyond who are ready to tame their inner critic. You don’t need to find yourself, you need to step into yourself.
I work with adults to help them start listening to the other voice they have within, one that is empowered, wise and has self-compassion. You will see your worth, know your value and envision your life the way you want, on your terms, inside my office so that you can live that life beyond my office doors. Our work will be balanced between talk and tangible “take-a-way” tools and techniques. By the end of our work each week, you will see yourself as empowered, confident and capable.

* Today, many therapists will use the word “coach”. And there are many coaches that do not have a degree or license to work in the area of mental health. I graduated from and became certified in, Coaching principles and practices starting in 2006 and again in 2016 by programs recognized by the ICF (International Coaching Federation), offering clients tools and skills from two dynamic disciplines.
