Joel Lazar

Joel D. Lazar, Ph.D. is a Licensed Psychologist (CA License # PSY12520) who has provided counseling and psychological assessments to clients of all ages for over 20 years. In addition to working with adults, he specializes in working with children, adolescents and families. He helps them work toward their common goals of mutual respect and improving children’s happiness, judgment, social skills and pro-social behavior. His unique style emphasizes humor and an integration of cognitive therapy and family systems theory. Dr. Lazar has particular expertise in gender role issues, and works to help people develop all of their potential rather than being limited by outdated, restrictive definitions of masculinity and femininity.
